Xtreme Metal Black Base is the foundation the whole metallic system is built on a glossy black lacquer undercoat that gives the metal paints their mirror-like shine. Airbrush it smooth and even, and the reflective metallics laid over it come alive.

Best for

• The essential gloss black base under all Xtreme Metal colours
• Maximising the reflectivity and depth of metallic finishes
• A durable, smooth lacquer undercoat for bare-metal schemes

Airbrush it in thin, even coats over a primed model and let it cure to a hard gloss. The smoother and glossier this base, the more convincing the metal on top it’s worth taking your time.

Lacquer-based airbrush in a ventilated space. The starting point for the full AK Xtreme Metal range.
