RLM 71 is the dark green half of the classic two-tone Luftwaffe splinter scheme, used on the upper surfaces of countless WWII German aircraft alongside RLM 70 and 02. AK’s 3rd Generation acrylic gives you an accurate, consistent version of it straight from the pot smooth enough to brush on for panel detail and thin cleanly for the airbrush when you’re covering a whole wing or fuselage. If you’re chasing a historically correct camouflage scheme rather than an approximation, this is the shade to build it on.

Best for

• Upper-surface camouflage on Luftwaffe WWII aircraft kits
• Splinter schemes alongside RLM 70 and RLM 02
• Brush detailing or airbrushing larger panels and fuselages
• Building a proper RLM colour set alongside 63, 65 and other period shades

Nail the greens and the whole camouflage pattern falls into place everything else is just weathering on top.

No frills here it’s an accurate acrylic in a well-labelled tin. Pick up RLM 70 to complete the splinter pattern, or one of the Inks for post-shading once it’s dry the full range is in the acrylic paints collection.
