Darker skin tones need their own shadow colour, not a black wash bodged over a brown base Afro Shadow is built specifically for that job, giving you a rich, deep tone that shades without turning the skin muddy or grey. It’s the difference between a face that looks properly modelled and one that just looks dirty.

Best for

• Shading darker-skinned human miniatures faces, hands, bare arms
• Deepening contour under jaws, brows and knuckles
• Realistic portrait-level skin work on 28mm and larger scales

Used thin as a glaze it deepens naturally; used neat in the deepest recesses it gives proper contrast without flattening the tone.

A proper shadow tone for darker skin, done right. Pick a warmer or cooler base flesh tone to match, or see the full AK 3rd Gen Acrylic range.
