If you want the whole Warhammer 40,000 hobby in a single box, this is it. The Starter Set drops you straight into the war for the 41st Millennium with two ready-to-build armies the noble Space Marines against the brutal Orks plus the rules, the boards and the terrain to get playing that same afternoon. No prior knowledge required: it’s the definitive jumping-on point for the new edition.

What’s in the box

• Two complete push-fit armies of Space Marines and Orks miniatures
• A Core Rules Book to run your games
• A comprehensive guidebook covering building, painting and playing
• Double-sided gaming boards to fight over
• A set of plastic push-fit terrain for objectives and cover

How it plays

• Two players take opposing forces and battle across the boards
• The guidebook eases you in with early missions before the full Core Rules
• Push-fit models mean you’re assembling and playing within the hour

Whether you’re going halves with a mate or arming both sides yourself, this is two armies, a rulebook and a battlefield in one box the lowest cost per model you’ll find in 40K.

Supplied unpainted; push-fit assembly. Clippers and paints not included. Add a 40K Paints + Tools Set for the colours, brush and clippers and you’re kitted from box to battlefield. Not sure this is your ideal starting point? Our guide to the 11th edition 40K starter sets breaks down every option or see the whole 40K starter sets range.

Want the paints and tools in the box? The Complete Starter Bundle adds the Paints + Tools Set, a painting handle and a water pot for around 10% less than buying them separately or the Two-Player Starter Bundle gives each player their own kit.
