Engines and exhausts leave their mark, and Brown Engine Soot is how you paint that story on. This dark, sooty effect builds up the greasy grime and burnt residue that gathers around exhaust ports, engine decks and vents, giving hard-worked vehicles that unmistakable lived-in look. A subtle touch here does a huge amount to sell a machine that’s actually been running.

Best for

• Soot and grime around exhausts and engine decks
• Greasy residue on vents and access panels
• Adding operative history to vehicles and armour

Stipple it on and streak it back in the direction of airflow restraint is everything, as a little soot reads as far more convincing than a heavy smear.

Hard-run engine grime straight from the pot. Pairs perfectly with Vallejo washes and the wider Weathering Effects range for layered realism.
