The distinctive rust-red of hematite soils and Martian sands, in a bold coarse grain. Vallejo’s Mars Red texture at 25mm is a ready-to-use acrylic paste for building dramatic red, iron-rich rocky ground on larger bases, terrain boards and dioramas. Apply with a spatula, leave to dry, then paint, wash and drybrush to match.

Best for

• Coarse, dramatic red terrain on larger bases and boards
• Scattered rubble and boulders on desert and sci-fi worlds
• Combines with washes and pigments for extra realism

The coarse grain reads as proper boulders on bigger bases, adding real drama underfoot.

Ready-to-use red ground for alien and arid worlds. Pair it with rust washes and earth pigments to build up the effect.
