Dry, chalky limestone soils run from pale grey to a merciless, sun-bleached white and this fine-grain Vallejo texture recreates exactly that. Spread it over a base or vignette, let it dry, then paint, wash and drybrush to conjure a parched, arid ground. Add a bleached skull or a burnt-out wreck and the atmosphere writes itself.

Best for

• Chalky, sun-bleached limestone ground
• Miniature bases, terrain boards and dioramas
• Combining with washes and pigments for realism

A little texture turns a bare base into a scene with a story.

Realistic ground, ready to go. Pair it with Vallejo pigments and washes to finish the effect.
