Death is only the beginning. Grave Danger is the blue-black entry in Wizards’ Starter Commander line, led by sibling necromancers Gisa and Geralf, who’d rather raise your creatures from the graveyard than let them lie there uselessly. It’s a genuine 100-card Commander deck, not a stripped-down demo, with a rules summary and reference card built in so first-time players actually know what to do on their turn.

What’s in the box

• 1 ready-to-play 100-card deck (1 foil-etched legendary commander + 99 nonfoil cards, including lands)
• 1 foil-etched Display Commander on thick cardstock
• 10 double-sided tokens and punchout counters
• 1 strategy insert, 1 rules summary and 1 reference card
• 1 deck box

How it plays

• Zombie-tribal graveyard value: creatures that die keep working for you
• Gisa and Geralf reward filling the graveyard and reanimating from it, rather than racing to swing first
• The included reference card walks new players through turn structure and Commander’s key rules

It plays well straight out of the sleeve and gives a new Commander player something with actual teeth upgrade it later once you know what you like, rather than before you’ve even cast a spell.
