Colour and texture in a single step that’s the appeal of Martian textured paste. Trowel it onto a base or diorama and it builds up gritty, alien ground you can leave as-is or paint over, with no separate basing sand and paint job required. This one’s a fluorescent green that reacts under UV light for properly otherworldly terrain.

Best for

• Alien and sci-fi base and diorama groundwork
• Textured terrain from arid deserts to rocky ground
• UV-reactive effects on display pieces

Apply it with a spatula or an old brush in the thickness you want, let it set, and you’ve realistic ground in a fraction of the usual faff.

Texture and colour in one pot. Build out the scene with more basing materials.
