History: The British 4 Gallon petrol tin was an early wartime fuel container used before the widespread adoption of the more robust jerrican-style designs. Commonly seen during the early years of WWII, these tins were used to transport and store fuel for vehicles, generators, and equipment. Their design reflected pre-war requirements and manufacturing methods, making them a distinctive feature of early British military logistics and an important detail for historically accurate vehicle models and diorama settings
