Chipping Effects is the trick behind every convincingly battered tank you’ve admired on a forum thread. Paint your basecoat bare metal or rust work well brush on a coat of this fluid, let it dry, then apply your topcoat as normal. Once that’s dry, a stiff brush and a bit of water, or a sponge for a scattered pattern, lifts the top layer away exactly where you press, leaving sharp, believable paint chips behind.

Best for

• Chipped, scratched paintwork on armour and soft-skin vehicles
• Worn edges on hatches, tools and high-contact areas
• Both fine brush chipping and broader sponge-applied wear

Because you’re physically lifting paint rather than stippling on fake highlights, the result has real depth and randomness the kind of wear a model gets from actually being fought in, not just painted to look like it.

Works over most acrylic basecoats and topcoats. Pair with a shade from our pigments range for dust in the chips themselves, or see the wider weathering range for the full battle-damage toolkit.
